Burger King Marketing assignment
The reason I chose Burger Kings AD is because it was instantly eye catching to me because over the years I have realized that Burger King happens to have a lot more ads and or commercials on tv overtime due to Burger Kings sails falling deeply behind McDonald’s and Wendys. As a result they always attempt to air an eye catching commercial in hopes that will attract more customers when in reality nobody’s going to Burger King. Burger King is presenting a a new position launch that circles back to their old roots of their " Have It Your Way " advertising discussing how important it is to their company that customers have an important preference. The new campaign "You Rule" focuses on the importance of customization at their diner. This new push for fame comes a few weeks after QSR chain developed a new multi million dollar deal to "reclaim the fame" which increases their ad investments over the next couple of years. Burger King standouts with these ads due to obvious company value proposition which is putting their customer first, they want everyone to understand they want customers to be able to indulge it exactly what they want , to be able to customize their food to their preference. This ad campaign comes from a sales crisis they are currently in, within the past four years Burger King has severely fallen behind in sales to McDonald’s , this an attempt to make a catchy tune to support their business , with their new " You Rule " campaign they attempt to deliver a message that Burger King guests are considered royalty. The new ad shows the youth of our world enjoying Burger King in their personal unique way while doing a fun activity, this play on word is explaining sining the unique element on how personal preference is important wether its activities you enjoy or you choice of food. The biggest challenge is McDonald’s who is considered their rival is constantly continuing their uprise without needing to spend millions of dollars on advertisement. The Unique aspect of this ad is in fact how unique peoples preference can be , the ad shows people doing unique things with "unique" food . Personally I don’t nt think this is a good marketing solution , there not promoting a new food their just trying to make a revamp of their old ways of people who go to Burger King are royalty , when i'm not sure that $1.99 for a ten piece nugget reflects any kind of royalty. If I was product manager I would've centered the commercial more saying how Burger King can make you FEEL like royalty and not just saying your are royalty i think saying it makes you feel like royalty. What I learned from this assignment is that spending millions of dollars on an ad to promote your fast food chain wont get more people in the door unless you bring something new to attract innovators eyes. https://www.marketingdive.com/news/burger-king-whopper-you-rule/633449/
